Philip Bassignani
Manager – Product Line of the Analytical Services Division at Pace

As the Manager - Product Line of the Analytical Services Division at Pace, Philip Bassignani supports the organic product line sample preparation as well as both LC and GC methodologies, including MS-MS and HRMs.

Mr. Bassignani is responsible for sample preparation and analytical method optimizations, new method implementations, development of new techniques and staff training, as well as working with and providing technical support for the Pace sales team and project management staff.

Stephen Somerville
Technical Director for PFAS at Pace

As the Technical Director for PFAS at Pace, Stephen Somerville is responsible for the technical oversight of all the PFAS analysis operations within Pace’s nationwide network of environmental testing laboratories, including 8 PFAS centers of excellence. Mr. Somerville guides the development and implementation of both routine and customized analytical approaches throughout the network.

Mr. Somerville is charged with leading efforts toward improving, standardizing, and expanding PFAS analytical services within each PFAS laboratory, as well as providing technical advice to sales, marketing, quality/compliance, project management, and analytical teams within Pace.

Tarun Anumol, Ph.D.
Director, Global Applied Markets, Agilent Technologies Inc.

Tarun Anumol is currently the Director for the Global Applied Markets at Agilent Technologies, where he is responsible for a team that identifies key trends in the environmental, food, materials, chemical, and energy testing markets to address unmet customer needs. He has previously served as market manager for the food and environmental markets, focussed on developing strategies to address testing needs. Prior to this, he was an LC-MS applications scientist at Agilent, focused on developing analytical methods for trace contaminants like PFAS, hormones, drugs, and algal toxins on LC-MS/MS and LC-Q/TOF in food and environmental matrices. Tarun has a strong history of working in the environmental testing industry, with a background in technical and applied science, with over 30 peer-reviewed journal publications in this area. He currently serves on the executive committee of the Environmental Sciences Section for the American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL), the chair of the Industrial Outreach Committee for the American Chemical Society (ACS), and on the Steering committee for the National Environmental Monitoring Conference (NEMC).

Prior to joining Agilent, Tarun graduated with a Ph.D. in Chemical & Environmental Engineering from the University of Arizona, working on developing analytical methods and strategies for measuring and attenuating emerging contaminants like PFAS, pharmaceuticals, and disinfection byproducts in relation to water reuse. He also has an MS in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
